FAQ

  • How often should I have tutoring sessions?
This varies for each student. Students typically have 1 or 2 sessions a week per science. If more sessions are required for any reason (feeling behind or getting closer to exams) we will work hard to make time in our schedule for you.
  • What time of day should I have tutoring?
This is decided by each individual student. We recommend picking a regular time that the student can do when they can focus, without distraction, for one hour.
  • How do I book a tuition package with Science Scholars?
Send us an email or complete the a contact form on the website. We will get back to you promptly with more information and prices. We will discuss the students goals and develop a learning plan to turn those goals into reality.
  • Who will be my tutor?
As a small, growing company, most of our sessions are taught by our lead tutor Dr. Sam Newbatt. He is a highly-qualified teacher with over 10 years teaching experience in universities and schools around the world. If students have a particular tutor they would like, we are able to make sure they are matched with that tutor.
  • How long are tutoring sessions?
This is up to you. We have three options to choose from: 1 hour, 1.5 hours, or 2 hours.
  • Will I be able to change the time slot once I have booked?
We always recommend keeping the same time slot each week. However, if you need to change your time slot or you have a good reason to change a session, we will try to be as flexible as possible to meet your needs. This will depend on the tutor's availability.
  • Do you offer Biology & Physics tutoring at IGCSE and A-Level?
At the moment our provision for IGCSE and A-Level is Chemistry only. However, we are expanding and will soon be offering Biology and Physics sessions with subject specialist tutors. Please get in touch if you are interested in Biology or Physics tuition and we will put you on our waiting list for these subjects.
  • What if I am sitting an early entry exam?
We can produce a bespoke learning plan for you that means you will be fully prepared for your early entry exam.
